Sukhumvit

Sukhumvit Road is the main road of Bangkok and extends to the Cambodian border. It is reputedly the longest street in the world. For travelers in Bangkok, a stay in Sukhumvitmay refer to the area near the BTS Skytrain station. You will find a plethora of convenient hotel in Sukhumvit beyond Thong Lo. A stay between Nana to Thong Lo is advisable for those visiting Thailand for the first time.

The streets in Thailand are numbered by their Soi, which simply means a sidestreet that extends to a major street. So when you see Sukhumvit 12, it means Sukhumvit Road at Soi 12.

When selecting a convenient hotel in Sukhumvit, be conscious of how it is. I once stayed in a budget hotel on SukhumvitRoad Soi 40. I learned that Thong Lo BTS Station was at Soi 38 so I reckoned the hotel was a street to the next station. What matters in Bangkok soi’s is that they are absurdly long, and I had to stay in a hotel that was far enough of the soi. So I had to take 25-minutes of walking just to go back to the main road. At the beginning of each soiare motorbike taxiswho will take you to the rest of of your soi. However, I preferred to take a 10-minute walk to the BTS station. It’s actually an adventure, especially knowing places like Sukhumvit. You can say that you’d like to go back here in the future.
